[destroyed] IID Tool - useless on new vehicles!! Avoid!!!

Hello all,

I have given up waiting for GAP to get the BT Tool working with my D5, so mine is now up for sale.

It has licenses for D3 tdv6, RRS 2.7 tdv6 & FFRR td6

In perfect condition.

Will be delivered with original box, and USB cable for upgrades etc.

Price: €400 (since it has the 3 licenses) including shipping

It went to the "used but working" section at our local recycling center so that someone can help themselves.

I am honestly extremely disappointed with GAP.

They wrote to me a while back making comments that they would of course get all the functions working on the D5 otherwise "they will be out of business".

Well... It was all talk.

I have a cheap reader that can do the same as the IID Tool, and it works on all makes.

It is honestly a useless device for the D5, and the company should really be honest and say that it won't support the D5 (like their competition have told me when I contacted them by mail).

What a waste of money!!

Won't be recommending GAP to anyone else.

D5 CCF editing is not the same, and nowhere near as simple as D3/4

Even Autologic are struggling with the newer models...

I was not questioning that, but when you think that the D5 has been out for over 3 years now, you would have thought that there would be some progress.

What I am annoyed about is that I got fake promises from GAP. They avoided giving a date, but I am almost willing to make a bet that they won't ever manage to get the tool working properly, or that they will make a new device that will be required for the D5.

They shouldn't even say that their device supports the D5 at all, as currently it is no better than a 200€ autel scanner (in fact, I think my autel can do much more than the IID tool)

I am angry because I was offered €300 for my tool when I sold the D3 & RRS, but because GAP told me that they would get it working on the D5, I decided to hold on to it.

Now, I can only get 150€ for it!!

So... Sorry but it has gone the way of all things, and I will certainly not recommend GAP to anyone with a new LR product!!

You would have got £300 for your IID on here, just for D3 licence alone
They sell most weeks for that, however your location may not help selling

Well I do hope for your sake that GAP don’t announce the release of a D5 version in the near future, because you’ve thrown yours in a skip!!

Personally, I’d have put it at the back of a drawer, just in case ....

If you look... I was selling for 400 EUROS with the 3 licenses, and including free shipping.

I even offered one person on here the tool for 300 euros including shipping.!!

NOTHING.

Honestly... I am more than disappointed!

Everyone here says it is so good, but they don't seem to be interested in buying it.

If anyone is REALLY interested in it, I can try to get it back from the recycling center. Let me know ASAP as I will have to check if it is still on the self-service shelf (it might have gone) !!!

It is simply that I would rather give it to someone here for nothing (who can make use of it) than sell it to anyone for a ridiculous price.

Many here might have it already. Whistle

I bought mine a few years ago at list price and have been quite happy with it on a D4 and a D3.

As for the rest - buy what you need right now and works. Don’t buy based on future needs or what you think will happen in the future. The vendor’s roadmap is subject to change and there are almost always some slideware or promiseware involved. Ask anyone who’s ever been involved in the software business.
