Detachable tow bar, locking position(?)

Hello. After mounting the detachable tow bar to the car and locking the green knob with the key (now its not possible to turn the knob) but i can stil push/pull it sideways, so the red field is shown. Like i say, its not possible to turn the green knob and the tow bar is in the correct position, but i think something isn't right. I have demounted the mechanism, and everything seem to be fine. Anyone experienced the same problem? Hallvard/Norway.. Smile

I think you're fine. After locking I can still pull the green knob outwards but it will not rotate and pull the locking pin in on the tow hook itself. Make sure the locking pin is fully engaged inside the hole in the receiver.

detachable tow bar

Hi, after reading several articles on detachable tow bars I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole.ditched mine and fitted a permanent one. feel a lot happier now when towing with 2 horses on board, alan.

I had one of the locking plates made holds it tight and prevents anyone taking it without spanners as well if left on overnight.
