without replying in the obvious way Rolling Eyes what's the technical difference in how you apply the hard or soft wax?

Over £100 for the swisswax Shocked Shocked Shocked Think i'd stay with something a little lower down the league....

Main difference over hard and soft is that the soft will be easier to put on, but not by much. Application of both is identical.

I was stunned when I did mine, really impressed. Would love anyone's thoughts on what wax to use; I used Megs Stage3 Carnauba, but would be interested to know if the P21 is that much better? Being a darkish colour I'd love to have a shine you could swim in Thumbs Up

P21 is a very good all round wax and at £20'ish is very good value. If you want something specific for darker cars for a wet finish use either Dodo Juice Purple haze or Dodo Juice Blue velvet the later is a hard wax. Both are durable and from what I have seen outstanding finishes.

I use this one on all my details with dark paint. Outstanding results Thumbs Up

I ordered some Dodo Juice from them earlier this afternoon along with a few more cloths (you can never have too many...)

Ordered at 17:04, dispatched (with tracking number) by 17:18........ Shocked Shocked Shocked But Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

So maybe even get it tomorrow?

Thoroughly cleaned the car yesterday & gave it a quick coat on the bonnet wings & front doors of Klasse All In One (as it was easy & quick to put on/off before the rains came down)

Then today, re-dried it & put a couple of coats of JetSeal109 on. Can't wait for it to rain now just to see the effect.

Once the wax arrives, I'll clean & dry & probably put another coat of JS109 on the bottom door panels before giving the whole thing a good coat of the Purple stuff!

Managed to get some JS on the plastic so popped into Halfords & the had some Meguiars Trim Detailer http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/Store/P...ductId=257 which brought it up a treat. Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up You need to give us feedback on how you find it. I'm doing a Merc tomorrow and using my newly aquired hand blended wax >80% carnuaba by vol. Sad I know, but i'm genuinely looking forward to getting this on after a machine polish.

I need to get a reality check soon, as the lakes is the next time I'm gonna get my D3 mucky Big Cry Although I could buy more Swissvax wax and claim that I'm product testing and get in the mud sooner. Rolling Eyes

Hoping to get the chance to apply it later in the week, at least on a couple of panels. Will try and get some decent pics of it cleaned pre and post wax Thumbs Up

I know the feeling - I've done car valeting (nothing professional, just shampoo and dry, tyre dressing, window clean, interior vacuum and washdown) as a summer job and weekend job for a couple of years for family, neighbours and friends and everytime I'm handed a wod of cash I find myself in Halfords buying some super special deluxe pro wax with the earnings Rolling Eyes

Favourite customer has to be a director from my Dads office who brings his Porsche Boxster S, Audi Quattro, and I get generous tips too Very Happy

P.S. Just found this picture of the Modus from last time I tried to detail out the scratches and swirls:

Put the Purple soft stuff on this morning.

I was really worried it would be difficult to do, but no such problem Thumbs Up

Was a bit concerned it might stain my hands purple, but it washed off very well.

Initial thoughts are that it seems to be only a very fine layer of wax, but it went on very very easily and came off very easily also. I applied by hand application only and then used two buffing cloths, one to get most of the wax off and the other to just gently buff over the top. You can see an increase in the depth of the paintwork already. Hope to get a second coat on tomorrow.

I've done the bonnet , and one side, going to compare against the other side after it's been out on the road a few weeks without a clean. Also doing the front wheels, but that's only coz I had a few extra minutes spare. Didn't bother taking them off & doing it 'properly' but thought a quick coat would be OK.

I'll try to remember to take a photo next time though..... Rolling Eyes
