Diagnostic tools

Hello all, I own a 05 LR3, 4.4 V8, (can't get the diesel over here in Canada ) Great vehicle, but as I live in a remote area 250 km from the nearest dealer I want to maintain it myself, so I plan to buy a diagnostic tool, either the Hawkeye by Bearmach, or the Faultmate MSV2, it appears the Faultmate will do much more than the Hawkeye, but the Hawkeye price is much lower. Anyone have experience of either?

United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Buckingham BlueDiscovery 3

Have just purchased the hawkeye after looking at others on the market, it has been upgraded to reset service and cover transmissions.

Have had the tool for a few weeks now and i find it easy to use , like the live data so you can actually see whats going on, also you can reset EPB and FBH.

It works on any model you unlock for also ( not just to chassis number) so of any disco 3 either diesal or petrol and as many as you want to ( so if you know anyone else who has got a disco 3 get them to chip in?

Hope this helps

Wheelwright, the Bearmach Hawkeye would be more comparable to the Faultmate FCR, which is a few pounds cheaper than the Hawkeye. Check out blackbox-solutions online shop.

The Faultmate MSV2 has fault reading and clearing capabilities like the FCR or hawkeye, but also has the capability of flash programming the latest software and enabling selected new features on the D3 and D4. Search fo posts by Wiggs - he has done a lot of work on the faultmate.

I am not associate with faultmate or bearmach, but I do own a faultmate
