Diff oil levels

Hi all, just a quick one to be sure. The front and rear diff are not a fill to spill level? I’ve just changed the oil in both diffs (1.1l for the rear and 0.61 for the front as quoted on here) I only ask as when I took the filler out for the rear diff oil came pouring out. I’m assuming it’s been done before and someone has done it to the filler level. I’m just wanting to put my mind at rest Laughing

Yes quantity rather than the usual spill method.
Stupidly small amount of oil.

ISTR getting all 1.1L into the front diff was all but fill to spill - mine was a D3. But quantity is the way to go.

The differences are minimal - just fill till it spills and you will be fine and is less mucking about.

2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

Exactly!! after a discussion with my LR dealers in his time over this old issue, we did a real check on the volume of a fill to overflow and indeed the differences are minimal so I filled until it spilled and it will be fine!!!.... even though the workshop manual says otherwise!!
