Hi guys first post here: I have a auto 2.7 TDV 6 i am experiencing a droning (like i have all terrain tyres on) when decellerating and slight left turn. The bearings are maybe less than two years old and on trawling through the posts on this site i suspect its the diff. I changed the diff oil today and it was brown, (maybe burnt smelling) and there was a small amount of metal on the drain plug. There was a little bit of lateral (in out) play on one of the driveshafts. I think that i will try and change the diff and put a new type breather on.
Can you guys tell me the part number it looks as if it is either 500140 or 500063 or is either okay and should i be looking at anything else as the cause? Drive shafts maybe?
