Difficult to engage Park

As of two days ago my 2005 D3 has been very difficult to get into park and makes a grinding noise when attempting to do so. I am going to try to get it to the dealer today. Has anyone else encountered anything like this?

I have read various threads concerning the park brake and autobox but nothing like this so apologies if there is thread I have missed. Smile
