Dimming sat nav screen

Dimming sat nav screen

can anyone tell me or do some comparision but when i get in may car the sat nav screen is really bright and clear but after a while it dims, is this normal.

I am hoping to make a few comparison tests next week as my car will be with the dealer for the week and I have insisted they give me another d3 to test, which they are, I will report back on any issues I have had on my d3 verses the loaner.

Actually I see the reverse, as expected (it starts din and gets bright in a few minutes). In fact I would LIKE mine to be able to dim, namely at night. Any way to do this?

HI
Maybe the brightness is influenced by the light sensor in the instrument cluster - next to the alarm LED

I find that the brightness can be adjusted using the dash lighting dimmer control.

Neil - does the same with me, on reading the manuals I had concluded that the light sensor was altering it. There are also settings on the screen setup itself for the basic brightness/contrast etc if I remember from first setting it up.
I'm intrigued as to why yours will be off the road for a week????

Mine starts bright and dims after a few minutes. You can dim it slightly with the dashlamp brightness control.

Sometimes on dark country lanes, I turn it off completely. Hit the right hand hard key, go to settings, select screen off. If you want to read the nav screen at all, just touch it and it will come back.

It would be nice to have this on the voice control. Maybe in the future?

Hi

mine is off the road for a week to have a new steering wheel fitted as the original one had a damaged horn switch and it is off to the body shop for a 3 inch paint blemish sorting and as the use a third part for body repairs it will be a few days, I have also given them my list of known software problems to look at but i kno wthey cant fix these.

As I will be on a training course until friday i will keep their car until the following monday.

Hi it is just below the window line, the dealer looked at it and was very helpfull and sorry that is wasnt picked up on the PDI it looks like a bit of polish residue but it is actually under the laquer

Mine has a blemish too on the front passenger door, like there is something in the paint. Fortunately they know my brother in law has worked over the world for many years spraying models and prototypes for car shows. It is right in the middle of the door, an inch or 2 above where the rubbing strips go. I am considering fitting them a little higher to hide it rather than letting them Censored about with the paint, but I'm not sure if it would look ok? Any opinions?
