Dipping reverse mirrors - changing the dip amount

Hi all

I have had a good look through the threads as I am sure I recall somewhere something about you being able to change the amount of dip that is applied to the door mirrors. Problem is, as ever, I have searched and searched and cannot find it. Embarassed

Am I just being a doofuss? Thud

If someone could point me in the right direction, give me the instructions again or tell me that I am suffering false memory syndrome and that the amount of dip cannot be changed then they would save me a few handfuls of hair (and believe you me, I don't have that much to spare!)

just put the car in reverse, change the mirrors to the new positions and then press the memory and number buttons to store the new settings. Thumbs Up 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

...and I seem to recall that unless you've already stored normal settings into seat positions 1-3, it will be impossible to store the reverse dip. If you've never stored seat positions 2 and 3 then store position 1 in them first.
A little feature I found when I had a replacement unit. Dr. Ian Malcolm:

That's correct - also I only got it to work (when I got a new seat module) when I tried to programme them with the ignition in position two (ie last position before you start it), and the electronics had previously shut down (clock off).

I also found ignition needs to be in position 2, 3 being start, 1 being stereo only, for the setting to be made. The manual says 1 or 2 but it lies... Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...
