Disable the "drip wipe" ?

I have a 2012 D4 (well, LR4). When using the windshield washer, the sprayers go off and wiper goes back and forth a few times. Then, after perhaps 3 seconds, the wiper goes across the windshield one extra time, probably to get any water streaks off. But here in the winter with all the salt, that extra wipe just streaks the window with salt.

Is there any way that extra wipe can be disabled?

Can't see anything in the CCF, only options for auto wipers and auto sensitivity level Confused

Just do a manual wipe immediately after the 3 auto wipes and it stops the follow-up wipe!

The extra wipe is just the auto wipers picking up the to fluid above the wipe area running down and being detected by the wipe sensor - turn auto wipe off and the fluids on the car above the wipe area will just run down the screen and not be swept away.

I dont think thats the case Garycol.

Mine is a GS and does not have the auto wipers, but still does the extra wipe.

The extra wipe is known as a drip wipe and as mentioned, it's there to remove the dribbles of washer fluid that come down the screen after the wipe has been done.

I agree with the idea of a manual wipe after the washers have been used, or alternatively, why not use the wipers on flick wipe then add the washer until happy and then stop the flick wipe? It should not do a drip wipe then as it's in a different mode.

I know this is how we programmed it when I implemented the wash/wipe control system part of the Aston Martin DB9 when I worked there.

Maybe not on your poverty pack but it does on mine and the OP has a HSE so will have auto wipers.

What he’s saying is whether you have auto wipers or not it will still do the drip wipe.
