2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Java Black

disco 3 cornering lights

hi
just about to buy a discovery 3 which is fitted with adaptive headlights (including cornering lights) the guy who im buying it from said that he couldnt show me the cornering lights working as they only work when 'auto lights' are being used, i.e he couldnt show me them working in daylight hours. I just wanted to check this was the case and that i wasnt about to have to fork out for new headlights.
any advice would be greatly appreciated

2009 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Rimini Red

I don't use the "auto lights on" setting and I'm pretty sure mine come on when the lights are switched to the normal "on" position. The extra lights come on when you're indicating and the speed drops to below about 15mph (not exactly sure about that speed) or when you're manoeuvring in a car park and start to turn into a space they will come on and light up the space you are about to enter.

As above - but the adaptive bit IE. turning headlights don't work unless you're moving above a certain speed, about 3 - 5 mph I think. Clive

can you think of anything else (obvious common faults) that i should make a beeline to check before i hand over my hard earned , sorry to sound daft but its a lot of cash & these aint cheap to fix so the more info i get the better.
