I'm gutted about it. Looked on eBay and an amp is £250 if it is that.
Today my air suspension compressor destroyed itself so there went £350.
It's not my lucky month but the stereo actually bothers me more!

My Sub-woofer has been having issues as well recently.
At first I wasn't sure what the noise coming from the back was. It sounded like a walkie-talkie when it is on the edge of getting a signal and makes the whooshy/crackling noise. I had walkie-talkies in the back, so checked they were off. They were.
Then I noticed the same noise from outside the rear after locking and walking away from the car. It just lasted a couple of seconds, I thought it was the tailgate actuator or something frying itself!
I then noticed that the noise, which had at first been very intermittent became more regular, and turning the sub volume down cut the noise.
I've since disconnected the speaker and the noise has stopped.
The sub looks okay, isn't damaged, but I'm not sure how to test it further or how to diagnose if it's an amp fault.
Would connecting a 'normal' (car) woofer speaker to one of the sub connectors be a way to check the amp, or would I need a proper sub-woofer?

Okay, it looks like one of the coils is blown on my sub. I'm not getting a resistance (ohms) (infinity, not a short) across the terminals, the other one is just under 4 (3.7).
Is it possible to use the multimeter to check the voltage coming from the amp to the sub?
What should it be with the sub disconnected?

A burned coil is due the amplifier sending continuous current to it.
You need an oscilloscope to check if your amplifier has a burned final stage or it deliver continuous current to the sub- Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

Decided to strip the sub-woofer to investigate.
Found one blown coil, and the other is damaged.

I looked into the wiring diagram to see why mines quiet and it l looks like it's fibre connection to the amp from head unit and 2 pairs to the sub.
Don't really help as I don't know if the head unit is not outputting or the amp. Both are bloody expensive
If it's the amp maybe I can get it repaired easier (hopefully) but no way to find out easily

Disvoverd yesterday the subwoofer signal is taken from the rear speaker audio path. If you set the fader only to the front, no signal to the sub!
