Very Happy

EDIT:
I would think it would be better if the switch was fitted to the left of the steering wheel ideally.
Then one hand could hold the button and the other hand turn the key.

Although by the door, means you can start it while stood outside the car, and then scrape windows. Whistle

Very neat. Any possibility you could post a picture of how you have wired it into the engine compartment wires?

Hi all I used was some twin wire. I cut the wires by the edge of the plastic coweling then run it back to the bulkhead then across the engine bay to the plastic box where the brake servo is. Then inside the box you can see a rubber grommet make a hole I it and that's your way in to the cabin. I'll try an get some more photos

Getting cold again £5 cold start fix.

If you glow plugs are shot and your fbh is broken you can still start your car see pictures and diagram.
Enjoy

Hi folks, Hi Pete,

in another thread I was directed by Pete K to this solution for cold starting with no glow plugs or aux heater. Tried it and it definitely works, many thanks. What I'm struggling with is firstly "why" it works, and secondly, why would LR not use this as fall back programming albeit with warnings to get your glow plugs fixed. Anybody know?

1. I think it injects less fuel and maybe that produces a better result in more dense air.
I suspect this trick won’t work at extreamly cold temperatures, however for those living in the UK it’s nice to be aware of and exploit.

2. Nice idea. Maybe LR don’t even know about it!
And secondly the D3 doesn't know that the GP have failed (where as jaguar and D4 3.0 models do)

Hmmmn, I had forgotten about this little trick. Considering doing this as a back up, although I am now retired Milestone ......so I don’t start the car most mornings like I used to Laughing Where could I source suitable twin wires ( preferably encased in black sheathing like flappers set up), and where physically is it best to fit the resistor, under bonnet or behind dash ? Sorry for all the questions. Thumbs Up
