This is the cheapest place I found for Shell C1 5w-30, 5 litres for £25.80, 1 litre for £8.20
Ordered 7 litres Thursday and it arrived Monday with free shipping!
As cheap as £5 a litre if you order enough!

But C1 is on the back.

Was ordered at 11:40 and was in SWMBO's sweaty little hands an hour later. I got a phone call when I was out running asking where we were. Poor driver prob wondered what was going on, and whether I'd survive!!

I've used it for the last two services, hate to say it but you where robbed, I usually pay £17/£20 for 5 litres when it's on special from same place It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I know but it was handy and I was only after 1ltr as a top up bottle to carry in the car. It's only a couple of quid more for just one ltr cf the tyre place. I'm not getting into the realms of changing my oil so don't need more.

Hunters/Guava use the same stuff, or did last time mine was serviced.
I think mine gets the 913 rather than 934 as it’s non DPF

C3 has the HTHS higher than C1 an C2, that means more viscous friction, not good for the rotating bearings issue.
C2 has SA and P (phosphor) Higher than C1 (not good for the DPF)
If the C1 isn't available, you can use the C2 but C1 is the best oil for our TDV6

^ Thanks for that - useful post
I checked my Service invoices last night - garage uses C1 (Hurray - my D4 has no DPF), checked my Top Up oil that I have been using for years - Castrol Magnatec 5W 30, but cant see C reference (Boo) - but only ever used in very small quantities (D3 / 4 never oil users) between changes so assume will be OK.
