If your D4 hasn't DPF, you can use C2 oil!

Are you sure ? My idea was the higher HTHS is a better protection ?! Nope ?
Thinking buy C4 oil for my D4 sdv6 with DPF.. Neutral

Having previously driven round for hours trying to find the right grade (as per handbook) have always just grabbed top ups from the stealer when I'm in there, however I've bought from three different dealers and been given three different grades of oil, all telling me it was the right one!

can someone do a sticky with links for the right bloody oils please.. I'm getting headaches just thinking about it.

Apologies if I haven't been paying enough attention Smile

Is 5W/30 – WSS–M2C934–B also the correct spec. for the later EU6 (Adblue) SDV6 engines?
 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Written Off)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Surely the last!) 18" Compomotive PD1881 rims.

Manual does state WSS–M2C934–B (MY10, page 205) but doesn't define as C1 - so thanks again Very Happy

Sorry don't understand why is this a problem ? You think its not good the rotating bearings issue ?
I just want to understand before buy a wrong oil spec..
As the LR spec is the "lower" we can do or not ? My idea is trying to found a better protection (if possible) for the engine...

because more viscous friction tends to drag (rotate) the bearings when the crankshaft rotates, especially with cold oil

Also the lion engine is an engine where the coupling dimensions are very small, this is another reason for use medium HTHS (Ferrari, AMG, JLR sports engines are running 0W/20 oils with HTHS 2,0)

Experiment show that wear problems appears when HTHS is less than 1,4, our oil is more than 2,9 (up to 3,5)
