Well did a 600 mile blast yesterday, most of it at 85 - 90 (kms if anyone asks!! Whistle Whistle ) in my 520d, got over 40mpg (D3 would be less than half of that) and the whole trip was a lot more comfy and relaxed than in the D3. And, guess what - didn't get stuck!!! Shocked Shocked Also no listening for the slightest odd noise or bong, no passing a spot on the Mway and wondering if the car was going to breakdown there again, better for overtaking and everything working as it should.

Would I have preferred to be in the D3 yesterday with the temps down to
-5c, no chance. Ner Ner Ner Ner

WHY WHY WHY does it please Disco owners to see people stuck especially BM owners?

Your D3/D4 is only better for the days it snows, the rest of the year we run rings round you Rolling with laughter Whistle

Thats just not true. Esp when I'm towing a 3T trailer across a boggy field. Therefore your comment is nonsense.

We dislike BMW drivers as you tend to overtake on country roads when it's unclear whether this is a safe manoeuvre. Typically you are followed by an Audi driver in an RS4. Bawbags the lot of you!

I hope this clears things up for you, albeit I think you already knew the facts.

BECAUSE BECAUSE BECAUSE we like to wind you up. Laughing

I am also a cyclist, i have been knocked off my bike twice in the last 18 months, one time being left in a ditch (could have been dead as far as the driver was concerned)......both times BMW drivers! Twisted Evil

I just love all the opinions of BMW drivers, what happens if the BMW driver was also a LR driver? Does that automatically make him (or me?) schytsophenic? Good to see bigoted prejudice exists in our choice of transport.

Note to self, for those that chuckle when passing a BM, Merc or other brand stuck in the snow, must chuckle when passing a broken down LR at the side of road and not even think about stopping to help. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

And that is exactly why drivers of all other vehicles including police cars have the opinion of BMW drivers that they do, I don' t think Merc's come into the debate, no problem with Merc drivers, considerate, curtious, not agresive, not abusive, don't tailgate.
Don't have any issues with BMW's really they are good cars, it's 90% of the people who drive them that are the problem, the moment they get behind the wheel they grow horns!

And you know them all? Am I one of the 90%, is my brother and his wife? And my BIL? Thing about sweeping statements is they are often complete horsesh1t when it comes down to specifics.

The BMW concept is a fantastic one as long as you accept it like the Apple model.

They deliver the results as long as you pay. You get what you pay for.

Example of inivation -

BMW can tell me where my car is 24/7

I can call a really nice person at the press of a button to tell me the nearest nice restaurant and they send directions to the sat nav.

The car automatically 'polls' the dealer when a service is due who rings me up with a choice of car (NOT a corsa or 207 like LR).

If the airbags go off the car automatically calls 999 giving the GPS co-ord of the car and a person comes on the phone asking if you are dead etc

If your car is stolen they can remote disable it - if you lock your keys in they can remote open it.

If you breakdown they know where you are and come out within 3 seconds.

You can send directions to your car via google maps, and rss news feeds etc

Oh - it doens't go through field - because I never need too! Thumbs Up
