Disco 4 - please identify this part

Hi all

I am stranded in the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

While on a drive an alert came up that the charging system has failed and immediately after that the coolant lost alarm also displayed. I pulled over immediately (was doing 25Km/h and switched off.

I opened the bonnet and saw that the fan belt was loose and the plastic coolant overflow tank was empty.

On closer inspection I saw that this pulley was loose and it looks like the bolts came loose. One bolt can still be seen on the photo.

I have insurance for the recovery of the vehicle to Nelspruit where the agents can fix the problem. I just need to know if this is the water pump - in the middle of the pic.

Kind regards

Thanks all.

Yes - it was just after the major service where all the belts were changed... I see in a D3 thread that this is common and the advice is to change the pump during this service as preventative maintenance anyway.

Lucky no other damage to the fan or other parts. - we wer going very slow just after spotting a pride of Lion... Thumbs Up

I can see a broken bolt sitting towards the bottom of the picture and an empty mounting on the pump. The bolt looks too short so I guess it has sheared. Shocked
