D4 low range and locking diff retrofit

Is it possible to retrofit the low range and locking diff on a 2014+ lr4 without the HD package? I am able to source the mechanical parts and have them installed inexpensivly but I don’t know if the wiring harness would require changes or if the right connectors are in place already and what software modifications would be needed. I have a nanocom I could use to program.

i think all is possible
but tbh i have been in places with old base model manual bus where low range and good driving was more than enough

imho adding it is not really needed and you might not gain much but extra headache when it fails for some reason

i would do search on here as it had been mentioned before not sure with what success rate

I am not sure about rest of world but in US the non-hd 2014+ Lr4s have no low range system.

Yeah it's beyond me why anyone would order without it to save $1500. Unfortunately it seems the used market here has tons of them.

It’s possible but the wiring changes will be massive as the modules are located in the engine bay and rear corner. I’m looking at it for my D4 but I’m struggling to find an ediff in the correct ratio.

What about the low range gearbox, is it possible to retrofit that? I think I can do without the e-diff but the low range gearbox is a must.

Check to see if there is wiring and brackets in the area of the brake booster. If there are the TCCM or Transfer Case Control Module will be there. You will also need the switch pack for the low range. Does your vehicle have Terrain Response? Also check to see if there isn’t any unused wiring under the car for the two speed transfer box. You will need to update the CCF file to tell the car what’s fitted.
