Disco 5 2015 links

Just wanting to do my research (whether to keep the 2011 and wait for the 2015) or trade for something else sooner rather than later ...

Just found D5 links. Two images as well ... not sure if I like it ... love the lighter chassis but not the design.

Here is the design ... http://techemergance.com/next-generation-t...-unveiled/

And the article about the D5.

Ah, thought it was familiar from somewhere, but dismissed that as senility creeping in. Whistle

As said before there were two of them at Gaydon when we went there, not sure if they had the same wheel arches but they certainly had the same lights.

It's obvioulsy a D4 with a front/rear end treatment but it looks fine to me. My only issue is that if it was coming out within the next two years, surely there would be more spy shots and speculation at this stage?

Don't think it's a D5, more likely to be a 2014MY Discovery 4 which is due to go on sale towards the end of this year.

Interestingly though, the front end treatment is a bigger leap on than it was when we went D3 to D4.

United Kingdom 2015 LR4 3.0 SDV6 Commercial XS Auto Corris GreyLR4

Met with a reliable mate from the factory on Thursday who showed me pics of the D5 on his phone... It is 100% reliable pictures and is a facelifted D4 with a front end that looks more like the outgoing FFRR and rear lights have now been turned from red outers to black with LED reverse/fog lamps...

Craig Thumbs Up

Is that the D5 to be launched in about 18 months time or the 2014/15 face lift D4 to fill the gap until the D5 comes out as I have been told that it will be in the same frame as the new RR and RRS

Russell, i have been told by several insiders there would not be a D5 as the D3 & D4 were not expected to sell after the D2 was hated worldwide and the 7 seat sport will take up the slack...

I guess it will all come out in the wash Confused

The pics i saw were of a vehicle refered to by his as D5... Release date i did not ask... Will ask next week Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up
We were told on both the factory tour and the Gaydon tour that there will be a D5 on a totally new platform to share with the new RR and RRS. I have also been told by another LR person that the new RRS comes out first followed by new FL and then the all new D? 4/5.
As you say all hear say so will have to wait and see. Thumbs Up

Craig we have visited the design centre and although the photo shown is a Photoshop of the new rangerover mixed in with what the French think it will look like .....whatever comes out later this year will be the 2014MY facelift not a D5

You are right though there won't be a D5 ...there will be a Discovery (no model number) Thumbs Up
