I believe I had the updated bolt fitted, would have to double check though.
Either way, think I’m screwed...

Don't all genuine LR components come with 12 months warranty including labour regardless of who fitted them?
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

My LR specialist, told me that gen parts come with 2 year warranty plus labour cover. Hopefully that’s an avenue for you..

Looking through my receipts it was the crankshaft pulley bolt I supplied, so not the tensioner bolt.
Tensioner bolt would have been done when belts done just under 2 years ago....
I had the a/c pulley replaced last July, so garage double checked cambelt etc - I assume tensioner bolt should have been replaced due to having been slackened off to do a/c pulley job???

No. The aircon pulley/pump is driven by the Auxilliary drive belt, that has its own tensioner and is on the front of the timing case, which contains the timing belts and oil pump mounted tensioner.

So they would have not needed to touch the timing belt tensioner.

They wouldn't have been anywhere near the cambelt or tensioner when they did the a/c pulley. Rolling Eyes

Genuine parts have a 2 year warranty. Speak to parts supplier

However, it may have broken due to a seized cam/crank overloading the belt tensioner, causing it to sheer...

Ah yes, I’m getting confused with all these tensioners..
But yes, the cambelt tensioner would have been slackened off because I had the updated oil pump done!
And I agree with Mikey - something has caused bolt to sheer, something seizing.... Big Cry
What’s a general figure (££) labour wise for body off??

It had already had a cambelt, and then later had an oil pump but reusing the belt/tensioner/bolt?

The cambelt/tensioner etc had been done a few months previous to oil pump, the belt and tensioner were checked and deemed ok as only a few months old....
Should they have been renewed anyway..?
