Discowest.
The centre an rear diff locks (all SA D3's have a rear diff lock) are activated automatically. If you have an HSE with the 4x4 info screen (or an ulocked SE) you will see a little locking icon appear when the D3 decides it needs diff lock.
Soooooo, centre diff locked, rear diff locked, low range and traction control helping the front wheels = massive traction!!
Always remember to turn off your DSC in sand. It will rob you of vital power if you leave it on.
Have fun!

Not really! We have our fair share of unique african problems, so we have to be compensated in some way!

Terrain response certainly does work very well in sand setup. I just find when wanting to climb a steeper dune that requires as much speed as possible I would like to be able to manually engage DL before take off. Surely the system can not engage the DL halfway up the dune as required? If so that's awesome. I did remember to kill the DSC but a pain remembering every time you stall or re start ignition.....2007 TDV6 HSE

Surely using "Sand Setting" in Terrain Response automatically kills DSC?

Nope. Found best settings sand mode, DSC off and use command shift to keep rpm at 2k. And keep the speed balance right between going fast enough to get through the soft stuff and slow enough to be in control. And the hotter the sand the more tricky it gets. That's the fun bit, doing that in 42c.
