Latest part of the saga....

Recieved two letters in the post today, first one confirming the agreed amount that we would be paid (which matched with what I had agreed with the engineer) and what to do next. All seemed okay until we opened the second letter. This one says that they had made a mistake in the first letter and had forgotten to take off the excess (£500) so would be paid £500 less than originally stated Shocked Evil or Very Mad

Bear in mind that the amount agreed originally was supposed to be after excess was taken off. Anyway, apparently my phonecall with the engineer wasn't recorded or is not available so they are now getting another engineer to valuse the claim from the start Big Cry No idea how long this will now take but must say I'm pretty hacked off and doubt I'll renew with them going forward given the hassle. Dave Neil

If their welcome announcement includes the statement that “all calls are recorded” then surely that’s their problem, and up to them to prove that they didn't make you an offer including the excess!

Tell em’ you’ve got it recorded and will send it to the ombudsman! 😉
