had the same funny stuff happen to me on a mercedes.....after much head scratching, I realised the battery neg connection had been loosened by the alarm/tracker fitter and hadn't been properly tightened.....20 seconds with a shifting spanner and all was cured (however, at least 1 hour of cursing till I found it!)

I'd check the batt connections mr confused good luck and keep us informed Smile
Confused Thanks for your info, so far LR assistance came out today, they could not find the problem and could not pick up the car until Thursday, I am taking it down myself in the morning. Embarassed This is the best car on the road today, long live LR

Actualy sold the car last Friday but had no more problems after the dealer sorted it.
They said mine was the inner wing -VE connection.
Good luck!

It is the worse time to have problems (there is never a good time) but I'm sure it will be straight forward and easily fixable. It is the best car in the world and when you see it off road you'll know it is too Very Happy

Very Happy Thanks for your replys, I took the Disco to Ottons today but they could not find the problem Sad it seems to be okay now anyway - they said if it happens again they will take it in for a couple of days and sort out a courtesy car. Happy new year folks Laughing

Confused.. Embarassed apologies for my '20 questions' after your initial post ...we occasionally have some bluntly negative posts about the D3 put on by unbelievers ...Obviously..I can see now that you are a believer Very Happy

I'm glad that it hasn't reoccured ...but did they confirm that they had checked the electrical connections?

Yes all connections checked, they did say they were all okay - its a puzzle, I just hope it stays okay and does not leave me stuck somewhere when time is an issue. Thanks

it's possible that the protective coating on the battery posts wasn't cleaned off properly - unless the battery terminals were removed, this won't have been checked
