Its stated on the manual that the disco3 2.7 is not compatible with BIODIESEL fuel
Is that really true?? Anyone has tried out??

A lot of Bio-diesel web sites say that it's due to the much higher pressure fuel pump used in post-2004 common-rail diesel engines. Something about the seals not being able to cope with the softening effect of non-petro fuels. Some of them say that bio-diesel should not be run in these engines at all.
I'm sure someone with some real first-hand knowledge will be along to discuss/advise shortly  Dr. Ian Malcolm:

LR will not warrant anything over 5% biodiesel, most euro-zone fuels already contain this %age of bio-crapdiesel
The TDV6 is pretty tolerant of most fuels in the short or medium term, long term use of 'out of spec' fuels will lead to premature wear, seal failure (not the GP type of seal  ) and higher oil change frequency

French diesel, AFAIK, always contains this kind of order of bio-diesel. Can't remember the exact figures. Our dealer told us it will run OK on most stuff.

well, 5% at max is OK then, according to LR.....

Should there be a problem with 5% bio-diesel, if the D3 is tuned??
Does this make any difference?
