Discovery 3 Automatic HandBreak
Hey ya,
I find it very annoying that my handbrake always comes on every time i take the key our of the slot, it's just useless wear and tear of the actuator and the breaks.
Now my question is:
Is there anyway to stop the handbrake coming on all the time after i take my key out ? And only come on if i pull the button ?
Thanks

Far from it causing wear and tear, it keeps the system in a good state of health, you are more likely to have problems through lack of use than over use providing you release the brake manually and not rely to much on auto release.
Use it or lose it! - it can be configured not to come on automatically in the CCF It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

So if you go into a shop for 2-3 minutes you don’t put the parking brake on the parking brake will last the life of the car if maintained as per the handbook. Highly likely yours has still got the original shoes fitted
If you still don’t want it to operate hold the lever down in the off position when you stop the engine. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hand break module is new and all break shoes along with it are new and get service every 6 months
It failed a few months back after 10 years of service..
