Discovery 3. Converting Xenon Lights to Xenon with Cornering |
|
Hi I own a 2005 Discovery 3 2.7TDV6 HSE. My Discovery has Xenon lights without the Cornering lights. If I was to buy The Xenon Lights with the Cornering lights how easy would it for me to get these cornering lights to function correctly. Someone told me the cornering function did not get put into Discovery 3s until early 2006, is this correct. I know I would have to purchase a adaptive Xenon headlight module but is there any more wiring looms and items I would need to get the cornering lights to function correctly or is it a impossible task. Thank You in advance.

First we need to ensure we are talking about the same thing!
There are cornering lights. A ~35W bulb by the side light, that comes on a low speed when you turn a corner. This is easy to enable with a GAP IID. (Check there is a red wire at the bottom of the headlight connector)
Then there is AFS, where the dip beam moves left and right to help long vision. This is very difficult to retrofit

Yes I am on about the 35w bulb by the side lights. My Discovery 3 is the HSE model but only has the HID Headlights without the cornering lights but now have two spare headlights with the 35w cornering lights enclose in them. I also have purchase an adaptive headlight control module should I need it. I take it with the GAP11D tool I’m going to have to go into the adaptive module to enable the cornering lights to work.
