Air con issue

Hi all
I called into see my D3 today, the dealer is doing a few little jobs under warrantyšŸ‘šŸ» The problem is the air con, it blows cold but not very cold, they have looked at it and the compressor is working (starting up ok) itā€™s full of gas but they canā€™t get it to blow any colderšŸ˜± anyone got any ideas what it could be, are there any known faults, itā€™s an HSE with the rear heating/air con.

Cheers

Graham

If thereā€™s no leak and the compressor is working fine, then try changing the heater control module.
Itā€™s behind the lower glovebox, held into the plastic ducting with two screws.

Got the car back now, all seems ok except Iā€™m not sure the compressor is actually working, how/what is the best things to check, is there any known faults?

Has it got rear roof mounted a/c vents?

I would still go for low gas pressure, you can have gas but not enough.
Its quite common for the under body air con pipes to rot out near their joins and leak the gas out, mine took weeks before it lost pressure, in the end had to pressurise the system and get the squirty soapy water bottle out to find the pin hole.
Pipe section was about 160 quid and its been fine ever since.

If you look underneath the pipes are attached to the insides of the sills, right hand side of the car is two coolant pipes and left hand side is the two air con pipes.

I know its stating the obvious but cars with rear a/c hold more gas than std motors.

The a/c compressor is not the straight forward on/off type of old, google variable displacement air con compressor.
