Do not know yet. Probably previous owner had tried to ‘rescue’ the car as it did have new full set At’s on when we believe it was left, 2016 on tyres and still got pimples, so we feel it may have had some attention, some kind of rescue attempt on 142k after all why would you not try after installing £500 of tyres? No real evidence of catastrophic failure anywhere that we can see. Odd thing it looks like no one had taken anything off or tried to investigate. It is odd it has the feel of it just stopped was set aside and not touched. There is resistance in the crank and we are not going to try and force it.
Having first thought of most obvious non start options we then thought it might be seized. No real give in manual attempts to turn over, we mugged up of how we may free it up, so for about a week or so we fed penetrating oil then diesel into pots to see if it might just move a bit. After a week or so we tried to turn over gently (manually) but did not budge. There did not appear to be any oil on dipstick so we initially thought it was run dry and had bottom end issues. Again nothing obvious.
The view now is to start taking bits off / strip away and discover and then have a proper look underneath in sump looking upwards. We expect there will be some bent bits in there.
When we have enough stripped away we might give it another attempt at manually turning over. My son thinks it is my wishful thinking hence the provision for a swap.
I believe the answer is we do not know and are going through a process. More soon but it will be slow.D3 2.7 Zermatt silver (not another one)

I have one, traded up from a Disco 3, 2.7td. Really enjoy driving it although I do tow a lot and the mileage is creeping up so not sure how much longer it will last!

I really hate where they have put the LPG filler. Mine is fitted inside the normal fuel filler flap. A much more discreet location.2013 RR Vogue SE SDV8

Refiited my CTEK comfort adapter today.
Covid means they are not getting driven as much, LRA can worry about the D5 so thought id sort the D3 out.
Wired into the boot so I can reverse up to garage and hook up.

So Im still thinking I have an oil consumption issue...
It was serviced 500 miles ago and was at full that night (checked)
Coolant doesn't seem to contain any oil, No excessive smoke, just condensation when cold. No visible signs of an oil leak.
Any thoughts or is this an acceptable use amount?MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

I may have solved this...
Someone may have underestimated how long the car needs to rest.
25 minutes wasn't long enough to get an accurate reading. Just been back out an hour later and back to full 8)MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

Happy Christmas all
Been out helping in response to floods and now temperature gauge is looking poorly.
Any thoughts chaps? Could it be the thermometer like in diesels? Heating working ok. Coolant level is OK

So we were getting there, bleed valve done, thermostat done, suspension bought up to notch.
Now I think I could have some exhaust leak. In Car with SWMBO the other day and both got a bit of a dry throat in the car.
Grounded the vehicle now until I can get it to specialist. Does the V8 have a common failure place?
Also noted the aux belt is cracking... Looks like that needs changing too.
