Is PCV valve a big job? Something I can do on the drive or does it really need a professional?

I have been trying to get my car booked in for an LPG service but the guy told me to email him so he can consider his diary and he's not replied to two emails! What do you consider part of an LPG service do you think? When I bought my car from Ivan (of this forum) he told me the fuel filter was a regular thing. Anything else do you think?

It’s held in place with two screws (I think) and it’s very easy to change it yourself. Remove engine cover, remove connector to saucer in the back on right hand side, remove screws, pull upward, put some oil on the o rings to lubricate, plug new, do the reverse, done. Thumbs Up

Regarding fuel filter, I mean petrol fuel filter, I thought it was inside the tank. Don’t think it is an easy job to change. More like one of the worst jobs you can find. Mr. Green

If there is some kind of other fuel filter for LPG…. No idea.

Hi

I changed the PCV valve just before you purchased it. When I had the LPG serviced, all they seemed to do was change the LPG filter just after the evaporator block.

Ah, thanks Ivan! There was slight information overload that day we met - I am sure it was one thing you told me.

The smell of LPG when the throttle is depressed is getting worse so I'm hoping my local LPG guy can sort it, maybe just with a new filter. There is no LPG smell when driving around town or local A-Roads. But the smell can be very strong after accelerating up the slip-road to join the motorway and going up-hill on the motorway with cruise-control on at 65-70mph. Hopefully an easy fix!

After 4 1/2 good years and the arrival of a company 4x4 I'm now faced with the potential trauma of having to sell - insurance/tax/fuel for a weekend car is proving hard to justify...

Very similar dilemma. Promised to sell the d2 when I got the d3. 3 years on and still have both on the drive. D3 not going anywhere but just can’t bring myself to part with the D2. Why do I need 2 she asks. Because I can I reply. When you reach a stage in life it’s not always about what you need but what you want Thumbs Up

I'm in the same boat, but the Mrs ownes the D3 V8. She won't let me sell the D2 even though it does about 600 miles a year Smile

I've got this in the garage, SWMBO says I don't need this either! One day she will realise what it is worth and not what I paid for it and then make me sell it so we can go on holiday.

Maybe 375 soon!

A result of “Catclean”and guidance from members we achieved a fresh MOT last night on retest and very soon another V8 will be back on the road but not before a lot of effort and cash
New brake discs, calipers and pipes all round, Gearbox refurb with T/C, new suspension arms at front, litres of very expensive oils, an unbelievably expensive ‘bolt’ , tyres, trim bits and the like but a bit more to do. Service with belts etc. once LPG sorted.

SWMBO questions my sanity for a 16 year old car. Rolling Eyes

Sell it to me, will be loved and cherished here needed to replace the wife's tdv6 which has been well sorted with new v8 brake upgrade, new upgraded oil pump, new air pump and generally well looked after in our care.

Some stuff done again, not much since the vehicle is close to perfect. Thumbs Up

Fixed a cooling hose… hoses getting brittle with age. Had an annoying leak from a micro fracture.
Changed from plastic t-piece to a brass one.
Changed engine oil and all the usual filters. Can drive a good 10k km again. Thumbs Up
Finally, after 2 years, transitioned to using dedicated cabling from the fuse box to the dashcam rather than the lighter socket Laughing used fuse F65, which was empty, and added a 5A fuse to it

Hope everyone else is getting well along with their rides Cool
