Discovery 3 won’t start on cold mornings

Hi everyone , hope someone can help .
I’ve a discovery 3 and on winters morning or when the temp drops below 3 degrees I can unlock the car with the key fob, but when I put the key in the ignition the doors relock and the hazards come on, you turn the key in the ignition and the dash board comes on to say it’s checking the system but then nothing, thecar won’t even turn over and nothing works in the car except the interior lights.
Once the temperature gets above 4 degrees it seams to work fine , VERY STRANGE 🤔🤔🤔🤔

2.7 tvd6 also when the key is in the ignition the alarm / immoberliser red light on the dash is flashing as if it’s mmoberlised itself if that makes sense and no matter how many times you press the key fob to unlock the car it dies but then straight away locked the doors again even with the doors open
Nothing also comes up on the fault codes

Do you know when it was last replaced? I ask as I'm pretty much every year replacing the battery on mine ... as soon as the temp drops in september I have a battery that's enough to unlock but not enough to turn over, new battery, all fine until about 12 months later on the first cold snap....

I've just been through a similar problem but both inside and outside the car, following PeteK's advice I isolated the fob I was using and found that my other fob worked perfectly. Since bought another fob programmed it to the car and no trouble since.

After this I dismantled the offending fob and found a faulty unlocking switch on the circuit board.

All is well now.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

with the problem starting in the cold i would say its a battery fault, batteries suffer more in cold conditions and it effects their cells, they can still read over 12V but the actual deep power of the battery is kaput, see if you can get it tested somewhere with a battery tester , it will tell you if the cells are ok or not

More like the battery in the fob, try using the other fob.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
