Discovery 4 inlet manifold repair

Hi just wondered if anyone had managed to repair a cracked inlet manifold without replacing it? I was thinking either some fibreglass or aroldyte might work. I would be keen to know if any one has had any success or failure with this? Or if i do have to replace it is there any advise on things I can do to make it a little easier to remove?
Thanks [/i]

I've seen people who've done this as a temporary repair however I don't know of anyone who's left it like that.

I think the general consensus is if you repair one area it will just split on the next weakest part, I changed both sides on the driveway over a couple of days wasn’t too bad to be fair, a bit fiddly with lots to strip off but doable with patience, have a search there’s lots of info available Thumbs Up

Have one booked in, in a couple of weeks time. "Repaired" with chemical metal, then split further along. So "repaired" some more. Now the manifold has split open, and cannot be driven without resetting the codes every few seconds Laughing

@Ste_m It will be on the tray that covers the gearbox, thats where they normally end up when you drop tools down the back.. lol

Thanks @Flack, it was wedged between the exhaust and a heat shield, managed to hook it from below with a bamboo cane with a tent peg taped to the end as i broke my extendable magnet yesterday trying to get it. All good now thanks
