Discovery3 V8 engine problems |
|
Hi I am new to this form and need some help I bought a Discovery 3 v8 HSE a year ago and sins then didn't drive it much think 4 times or so and only short trips so it sat for most of the time. I usually start it up once a month just to let the oil run through the motor and I usually check the oil before starting it up but today I decided to flush the cooling system an so I started her up waited for the tem to go to normal then I started pumping water in to the reservoir while I removed the drain plug at bottom of radiator while water was running out the radiator I noticed oil in the water so I then decided to pull the dipstick and saw the .... worst cases scenario chocolate milk... on the dipstick which points to obvious head gasket failure I then removed oil filler cap and saw no fog under cap so my question is how could the head gasket fail if it never overheated sins I had it and why only now while flushing radiator ? My dad suggested it could be the engine oil cooler that failed causing the water oil mixture could this be or did my baby just dei on me. really heart broken hear..Is there anyone that might have had the same problem or might know what the real problem is any help would be much appreciated

I think I'd be checking the gasket between the oil cooler and block first before ripping heads off 05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system
12 RRS SDV6 HSE (Hers) - Gone and replaced with an I Pace - I can tell you now EV is not the future yet

Drain the water oil mix out the engine then I pulled off the oil cooler I then refilled the water reservoir an pressurized the system and saw that there was water coming from the oil channels of the oil cooler so luckily its not the not the head gaskets only problem now is how do I get that water oil mixture out the engine ? Any suggestions on what method and products to use will diesel work as well
