There are many accessory fitting guides in the Owners info section of the GTR... have you looked here ?
Just a thought.

Neil,
I have got the cargo barrier - VUB501170, I asume you mean that as I do not know of a specific dog guard, or I would have bought it!!
I had my dealer fit mine as part of the deal when I bough the car.
They told me it was a bit of a mare!!
I hope you have got all the bolts and fixings etc, as there are at least 6 attachment points and 2 other retainers too!!
It is not a 5 minuite job to take in and out either.
If you want more info let me know, if you need pics too happy to share.

I have had installed by the dealer, so cannot help you. Sorry.
BUT what I know, it is a nightmare to take it OUT when it is in.
So if you have long load you cann't lift it up as with the Discovery II,
you only can take it out completely.
It is easier to train your dog to stay in the back, then to work
with this useless item !!!

If that's the case I may cancel it off my order and get a collapsible cage for my dog instead (if I can find one mastiff sized!). The accessories brochure says 'easily removable' but having had a look at the fitting instructions on GTR it does look to be a bit of a pain, 6 thumbscrews and quite a tight fit by the looks of it
Whilst we're on the subject of accessories, what mats do all you current owners have fitted? I've ordered the rubber ones as they're a bit cheaper and will probably be more hard wearing, but having thought about it a bit I may change to the carpet set. They won't last quite as long but from past experience rubber ones can be very slippery if you get in with wet shoes (common occurance in the UK!) and be a bit of a hazard. Does the carpet mat set include the third row or would I have to stick with the rubber ones at the back?

Hi Simon do you have access to the instructions as i couldnt find them, if you do could you email them over to me @ [email protected]
Johan could you send me some pics of it installed and were it bolts into the car if it is not too much trouble
the issue i am trying to over come is that on the Land Rover Usa accessories page says it can not been used inconjunction with the load protector which i have but i cant seem to see why

CARGO BARRIER
$234.00
This full-height guard prevents pets from entering your LR3´s seating area from the rear compartment and can be easily removed, when not needed. Note: Not compatible with the Loadspace Protector, and must be removed when carrying third-row passengers.

I have the rubber mats all round - but they are not in the third row. Need to check that as I'm sure they were ordered as a set.
Never had an issue with slippage at all and they get very muddy and wet !
Fitted well too by locking connectors.
Hope this helps.

Neil,
Instructions on their way
At a guess the dog guard clashes with the raised part of the loadspace protector, I've ordered the loadspace mat which doesnt have the raised edge

Cheers Simon.
The third row set does seem to be a separate part no. so you need to order both sets I presume

Boot mat is great as it can be rolled up and slotted behind row 3 when you go 7up.
The load space protector for the wife's Freelander is in the garage and stays there as its a pain when you put the seats down.

Hi,
I've a big dog and too looked at the LR "dog-guard" and once I found out that in fact it was the cargo barrier no longer wished to have it fitted.
I first saw it on the D3 launch and couldn't belive the design. It's certainly a cargo barrier but not a dog-guard per se, since it is almost impossible to remove, and restricts the use of the rear back seats etc...
I've found that with the high seat backs of the 2nd row my dog has no wish to jump forward, or possibly cant fit through the gap as he's a 12 stone Bernese Mountain dog (puppy)!! I did look at dog guards and there are a series which you can find throughout the web for approx £45-65 A useful link is below:
http://www.prizepets.co.uk/Public/Tubular_...T2/388.htm
For all those who wish to have a dog guard, whihc is removable see the link

Hi Many Thanks all
I found a dog Guard on ebay which I won but the guy is now saying that the bolts are missing....mmm..after looking at the instructions Simon has sent me it looks like it will need more than 6 bolts from B&Q as it wont have all the brackets.
I think i will have to do with out it as it is a must to have the high sided cargo protector as i use my car with diving kit in the spring summer and i have always used such a boot liner in all my cars as it colloect all the water that comes out of the kit on the way home, I only wanted the "dog Guard" to stop anyone getting hit in the back of the head by dive kit but they will have to suffer unless someone says they have managed to use both items inconjuntion with each other.
ooh well many Thanks for the help 2005 Java Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 HS (GONE)

Get a dog cage! I have 4 dogs and have a cage that fits in the high sided cargo load liner, it works perfectly! It is easy to lift out if I need the rear seats.
