Doing An Early Service?

Stupid question maybe?

This year for the first time we are going to drive to the Alps for skiing. We are going 1st week of Jan. We bought the HSE a few months ago 2nd hand. It had just had its 15k service. Now I think I am going to be at about 27-28k miles by Xmas. Can? should? I get it serviced between Xmas and New Year before the 2k round trip to the Alps or does it matter?

no harm on doing it early. I had 25k on mine when I drove to Italy and had 28k when I got back. Serviced at 30k but I did have a hood look round it before I went including changing brake pads all round. I'd recomend you take the wheels off and check them at least. The need changing If they're 3mm. Easy to do yourself.

If it was me, i would make sure that i had checked all the fluids, tyres, brakes etc. and taken whatever action was appropriate.

No point in parting with your hard earned cash any earlier than you need to. Providing you are not massively over service interval by the time you return which might impact on warranty.

See if your dealer is doing a winter check for £40 or something, if anything does go wrong you can then show them you take maintaining your vehicle seriously and it should also ensure no issues in a colder climate!

Thumbs Up
