Changed engine air and cabin air filters.

The cabin one was surprisingly dirty.

Another Saturday spent under the car looking at leaks Smile

Gearbox is leaking from the mechatronics plug, so will order up a new plug and metal sump, still has the plastic one installed.

Rear Prop middle bearing is shot to pieces so new prop on order as well.

So that will be next weekend taken up under the car again Smile

I put a bottle of Sea Foam fuel line cleaner through it today and its actually made a noticeable difference. Was sceptical when first poured in but after 10miles lots of black smoke on acceleration and a real chemical smell if that makes sense? This continued for about 50 miles then the smoke died down and just the smell remained. Anyway after a three quarter tank of diesel and a long drive to see some relatives its responding much better (or at least seems to be). I'd give it a go if you haven't run a cleaner through before.

Wheel / Tyre upgrade

Got hold of a set of 5 19” alloys with duratrc tyres fitted. Two of the tyres were brand new. Just put them on the D3.
The verdict is still out on if I like them or not.
What do you guys think

Vehicle passed inspection. No complaints, notices or anything. Very light surface rust in some places underneath, the guy inspecting said it shouldn’t be of any concern.

were you in the field too, or on tarmac?
Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.

Being a good Samaritan and always wanting to be a good boy scout I'd like to be able to offer the same service to someone in need someday. I have rescued a few cars and loaded vans with ease up steep slippy hills but nothing much bigger. What on earth type of towing gear are you carrying? I have plenty of 2,3 ,4 and 5 tonne straps and same rated shackles and I think I have a 10 tonne strap and appropriate shackle that's not in the vehicle so what is strong enough to do this without too much risk involved? Ive seen D3 and D4's pulling artics before now Thumbs Up

1) fitted towing electrics (and checked the worked!)
2) fixed my heated steering wheel - not sure how, but the connector had come out, do nice and quick fix😀
3) Dab radio still isn't working and I've replaced the module and amplifier...🤔

Engine oil and filter change and using the same make of oil as above! Change every 6k miles.

Also took the winter tyres off and put back the PDs. Kind of hope we don't have any more 'winter weather' as last lot was a damp squib round here.
