Fitted new front "LR" brake discs purchased from a LR dealer for my brembo caliper set up and front pads purchased elsewhere
The discs were stamped Brembo (very faint, kind of covered up).......was looking forward to a LR stamp on the discs.

Hi All,
Just thought I'd report on a busy weekend. I've had my D3 just over 6 months now and having mainly done remedial stuff, the time had come for a service (plus).
Car has 10 LR stamps in the book having covered 114k miles. My brother's a mechanic (Citroën specialist) so I thought we'd attack a B service. Premium service kit purchased from AF (excellent place) along with a new prop shaft (centre rubber bush FUBAR'd) and 4 litres of stupidly expensive transfer box and diff oil.
3 hours later and full service completed along with 3 year brake fluid change, prop shaft swapped and transfer box and diff oil changed - thanks to some great write-ups on the Forum .
Time to fire up. I followed the ignition on for 40 seconds and repeat a further 4 times regime to prime the new fuel filter. Fired up first time ran for 20 seconds then cut out . Brother then spent the next half hour attaching various bits of kit to manually pump fuel up to the engine bay - no luck. At least I can say the battery's in good condition. I personally was sh*%$ing myself hoping that I had plumbed the fuel filter correctly. As and act of desperation we tried the LP bleed valve method. Bingo! Fired up and ran.
Car's running great, new prop shaft has all but eliminated the gearbox shunt when dropping down to first. Another big day tomorrow - MOT . I'll report back tomorrow
Regards
Ray

Fitted the updated front diff breather. Spent longer looking for the breather pipe than the time it took to fit it. Can't believe the original was so tiny against the replacement, and as for the price!!!! :

I had the same - “where is that pipe, oh it is THAT one”. Cost including share of shipping was 11.22 eur for me. As it contains a gore fabric the price is certainly inline with cost of goretex clothing.....
Oh yeah, made the clock go back one hour yesterday (to stay on topic)

Just the little "maintenance" inbetween:
- new battery, alternator, belt, tensioner, idle roller.
- new brake pedal switch
- front LH drive shaft boot kit
- front lh diff oil seal
plus:
- fitted Allmakes / Terrafirma rock sliders
- whilst doing that: found out it was time to address a major rust issue on and in the sills. Lots of sweat & tears, ACF 50, angle grinder rust-off disks, ruststopping primer, zermatt silver & 2K clearcoat & ....

Washed it last night and gave it a coat of wax today. Tyre dressing on and Autoglym trim stuff on scuttle. First wash since beginning of September and 2000 miles. Well you don't want to overdo things. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Put the clock back 1hr, checked the tyre pressures, checked the fluid levels, filled it with fuel, cleaned it inside and out, all ready to hand over to my lad who’s borrowing it for the weekend, I’ll get it back in the same condition won’t I
