Don't shut your door whilst engine running!

Whilst you are on the outside that is! Husband started car got out to get something shutting the driver door behind him, doors all lock! 20 mins of me running about like a headless chicken calling the RAC etc when all I should have done was look at this forum! The Disco 3 forum showed us how to get in with the key, the buttons on the spare fob weren't working - thank you D3 forum...my hero!

If the engine is running the remote receiver is disabled. Must admit, I always lower the driver's window if I have to leave the car running when I'm not in it - too many tales of woe on here and from LRA techs (back when we had LRA techs Big Cry )

Well, I go on a lot of LR related forums and this is the only one that I get any sense out of, now I need to ask how to get the headlight unit out to change a bulb.

You lift the two metal tabs each side, on the top edge. They can be a bit stiff. Then the light just pops out.

They are really stiff to the point that I don't really want to force them in case of breakage, might get Halfords to do it then if they break anything I can blame them!

Look under the slats on the grille and you'll see some tabs under the top and middle slats. Pop these and tug on the grille and it will pop out. You can then see two sliders/tabs on the headlamps that you need to pull up - you may need some pliers for this as they get stiff with salt etc. at this time of year. Once you've pulled these up, the headlamp comes out and you can change the bulb. Takes about 5 minutes including rummaging for suitable pliers.

They can be really stiff - WD40 plus a screwdriver levered on something safe (I used a thin piece of wood) works - grease them on the way back in Thumbs Up

Annabelle,

I made a strong wire loop out of some flex, about 2" long, hooked it under the lift tab, sprayed WD40 down the slider, and then used a long bar throught the wire loop and levered from somewhere solid, came straight up, you have to jiggle them abit to line up the holes with the pegs though but not so bad.

Used some Copaslip on reassembly.

I Used a tent peg puller on the catches the first time I had to get the lights out, once out a good lub with PTFE spray and the tabs require much less force now.
