Door Handles Staying Open

Has anyone ever had a problem with the there door handles staying open?

I've recently developed a problem with my rear drivers side door handle where it sometimes stickes in the open position after you've pulled it. Then when you get in the car and pull the door shut the door either doesn't catch/shut correctly or bounce straight open

Anyone had anything like this?

Hi Ade, why don't you try some WD40? Could be as simple as that...

I've had it - same door too Shocked I rang my dealer and they said to spray some silicon lubricant on it (they did say to pop it down if I didn't have any) and that would cure it. Its been fine ever since - almost 2 years now.

As Woody says. Thumbs Up

I don't think that WD40 is a good long-term solution for door latches.

Hi. I had the same problem, same door last year. It went to Taunton LR for a door lock failure, what a fiasco but I will tell you about that another time, went to collect it and the exterior door handle was sticking open. It went back in on the Monday and they fitted a new handle, waited for the job to be done about an hour and a half. Smart guy came and said the car was ready so I invited him to come with me to check it. The new door handle stuck open, dumb silence from the smart guy. Threw my toys out of the pram and the car went back in. Three hours later same smart guy came over and said the car was ready, same proceedure as last time but this time the handle operated perfectly. Threw my toys out of the pram again saying why couldn't they have done the job properly in the first place!!! Dumb silence from the smart guy.
