The Mirror casing I think you are talking about can be removed, and painted, or you can buy some primed cappings and get them painted, rather than the whole unit.

Thats a door card removal (I think)............are you sure you want to paint the WHOLE Mirror, the textured black plastic.
The mirror caps look 8) , and are secured on the mirror slightly overlapping the mirror edge.

I want to paint the top half of the mirror to match the D4, but im not too keen on the covers as they dont sit flush with the mirror casing.

It aint impossible, and I guess the desired finish depends on the people who colour code.............

Some primed ones on ebay going cheap'ish, but I would try contacting "the large one", to see how much he can get them for, might even be able to get them colour coded

Already got the covers from Nick but when trial ftting them (still in primer) I wasn't keen on them, so thats why I asked about just painting the actual mirror casing.
After seeing SGH's tho, they do quite look good

I agree - anyone know how to take apart mirror housings?
I agree with the poster who said that they don't like the look of the mirror caps on D3's... I prefer the D4 style where the mirror upper portion is just painted. The caps dont look horrible or awful, but they are just not as spot on as the D4 style.
ANyone know how to take a mirror apart to have the original plastic upper painted rather than the stickon accessory added?
THANKS

There not supposed to come off ..but you can drill out 3 plastic screws and then they come apart .Some strong glue or a couple of normal screws needed to get it back together againG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
