My door will not unlock on the key. Works fine on the remote but when I try manually in the pax door the lock is solid. All I have tried is wd40 in the lock. Any suggestions before I pull it apart. Im a new LR owner so might just be missing something obvious.
And..
Second question, where to source extended roof rails, they seem to be pretty expensive for what they are andI want to use a roof box a couple of times a year.

As the door can be opened, take the lock off by removing the round black rubber bung and undo the screw on inner edge of the door in vicinity of lock, no door card stripping required.
I would then try soaking the lock assembly in boiling water, it will fit in a cup size container.
Then blow it out with compressed air and keep trying the key.
It's obviously gunged up through lack of use.
Lightly lubricate it before refitting.
Cobby.

aftermarket rails are cheap and you probably wouldn't notice any difference on the metal part, it's just the plastic bit at the front that lets them down ... and on mine you have to climb up to be close enough to see the gap. .

They do require a lot of force(near key breaking) when operating normally, give the wd40 a few days to work. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
