Door puddle lights

Hi
Ive changed all of the interior lights today for LED’s, looks much better nice and white instead of yellow.
Anyway, alls good apart from the drivers door puddle light. After I connected it, the lamp flickered on for literally a millisecond and back off. There was no bang or pop etc just came on & off in a blink. No lamp will work in it, ive even took the whole puddle light unit out of the back door & pluged it into the front but nothing. So I know its not the holder.
My best guess is fuse but thought it a bit odd everything else works including all interior & door lights.

Had a quick nose in the fuse box but couldn’t see anything obvious on the legend that relates to door lights. Only one I thought it could be was fuse 57 which turned out to be the glove box light. At least it shows that some lights are on their own fuse so im holding hope for there being a fuse for the drivers puddle light.
Anyone any ideas?
Cheers
Gaz

Try a different type - some of the LED's don't play ball on the front door puddles. I had the same issue but then mine started working again after door closed and opened a few times. Try rotating 180 degrees too in case there is some polarity issue.

Cheers pal. Tried all that. It wont even work with the old lamp back in. I ran out of time so not got my tester on the cable yet but I’m pretty sure theres no power there.

I'm sure I've got two by the rear fold down seats, although they are manually controlled.

Would look now but the Saint Emilion is going down rather well Thumbs Up

Front footwell bulbs. Thumbs Up

Unless that’s what u mean by “puddle lights”. In that case the 2 in the boot, one each side. Also if you want to side light bulbs, indicator repeaters (I’ve not done those as looks too yellow rather than orange) and rear numberplate bulbs (not everyone’s cup of tea).

I just used generic cheapies from ebay, they lasted well but after about 2 yrs they got a little dull, so after reading a thread on here I got some better ones, again not dear but better light output.
Sprry I cant remember their name/make!

Edit found them VANSSI 501 led, last time I checked amazon only.

It's possible that the circuit has "timed out" while you were doing the swap. I thought I had the same problem but shutting the door and then opening it again made everything work again Very Happy

as for a replacement kit - Powerful UK do a great kit that covers all the lights inside with nice high quality replacements, also including the number plate lights if you want to. It even comes with a nice plastic trim removal tool to aid popping all the lights out without scratching anything Thumbs Up

The two manual lights at the sides of the seats in the boot, although I'm not sure if they all have them or not

3 above front centre console
3 above middle centre console
2 in front footwells
4 puddle lights (1 under each door)
3 in boot (1 boot light in centre & 2 3rd row lights at the sides above each side window)
1 in glove box (I haven’t changed this yet as couldn’t see easily how to get to it, will look when I have more time)

But I have since found 4 more that I missed! So altogether 20!!!
These are the 2x lights either side of each sun visor mirror!

Mine has the bright pack option so Im not sure if any of the above are additional to standard fit.

Also fitted these to the front puddle lights last night. Apologies the photo isnt the best as my drive has a cobbled effect finish, which distorted the land rover image a bit when projected onto it.
I will get a photo of it on a flat surface when I can.
Only bought 2 to try, but now got another 2 on order for the rears.
These are the 5w version, some were 3w when I was looking around. Glad I noticed and went for the 5w as the distance from the door to the floor is quite a bit more than most vehicles!!

I did try this at the time, even tried locking the car, unlocking and then opening the door to see if I could ‘reset’ it but no luck. Came to it the next morning and it was working fine so Im not sure? It must completely lock out after so many ‘timeouts’ or something. Rolling Eyes
