Drivers seat "losing" settings....any ideas?
Afternoon all
Over the last couple of days, i've been having an issue with my electric drivers seat - it keeps "losing" it's settings...
When I get out of the car, it's fine, and then when I go to get back in (sometimes much later, sometimes only a few minutes), the seat is all the way back, all the way down and the mirrors are adjusted all the way out... it's getting frustrating resetting it every time I get in!
Anyone got any ideas of how to stop it doing this?
Cheers
Andy Peter, are you drunk? No, I'm just exhaused cos I've been up all night drinking...

Symptom
Memorized seat/steering column/mirror position is not resumed
Possible Cause
Battery voltage below 10.5 volts
Position not stored
Switch operated during "one-touch" memory recall
EEPROM fault
Action
Before condemning a memory component, check the function from the switch and refer to the symptoms above. Make sure the battery voltage is adequate. Make sure that the desired position is correctly stored. Make sure that the memory store/recall procedure is being followed.
Ok no problem , but i have just noticed its in KPH .....
Ok , first get this screen up ( if you have premium sat nav you will also have 4x4 info icon aswell ..and maybe a tv icon)
Press and hold this invisable button for approx 3 - 4 seconds.
Then press this button untill a keypad shows up.
Like this.
Then enter 753 then OK.
You will then get this screen.
From here you can access the 3 inputs on the screen for reversing cam / dvd and venture cam. As well as checking whats installed in your vehicle ...and various tests .
You want to press VEHICLE SIGNALS
Then you will find the speed , battery voltage ,park brake position , reversing gear on /off ,lights on /off ,various temperatures ....
Hope this helps ...to get out of these screens just push the Left hand hard button just below the screen.

When we first got our D3 I had a right fight with the seat memory, we use both keys (keeps em both charged) and have Misses and Me pre-set on our own key. I did manage to tie it all in a knot trying to train both, and think sorted it by get out, lock, wait, unlock, get in, save preset, get out, lock and then it was done.
Either way, I kept messing around, and since then its been fine for last 18+ months...

This might be a Lazy seat issue?
On the D3 you can configure the Lazy seat option, this codes your seat position to the key. It works great when you set it up, but if you don't set it up I can imagine it could be a pain.
Basically when you unlock the car, the car moves the seat to the position stored for that key. This is great if there are two drivers but if you swap keys then the seat would be in the wrong position.
You can switch the lazy seat option off in the settings menu.D3 HSE MY05 Auto
