Drivers side flooded

Hi everyone

Please help at the moment I have enough water in the drivers footwell to keep fish
I had the same problem a few years ago in the passenger footwell but sorted it. it was the sunroof drain pipe had come of
Where it goes through the body
But I can’t find where this water is coming into the drivers footwell is there a drain tube on the
drivers side the same as the passenger side as I can’t find it.

So can anyone please help as to where it might be coming from the passenger side is dry so is the
roof lining

Sorry I now this has probably been asked hundreds of times but looking through old posts I’m only
Getting half answers

Thanks Dave

Pop out the side vent. Tug it from the top from memory. Then move the foam out of the way and you will see the bottom of the drain. Has some odd grommet type thing on the bottom and this gets full of crud. Clean that out and it should clear it. Had to do mine a few times over the year.

Dave

Looking at the age of your car the elbow drain will have perished. Get a new elbow for a RRS and fit that. They are a new and improved design.

The good news is that the drain is the easiest to to do. Get a decent torch and look up under the right hand side of the footwell towards the wing vent and you will see the pipe and elbow. You may well find that it has rotted completely and just the pipe is hanging in space dumping all the water into your footwell. From memory you just need to remove the piece of plastic trim that covers the cables on the right hand side

Hi everyone

Thanks for all the replies all sorted now the elbow hadn’t rotted
but it was that badly blocked surprised it didn’t overflow the sunroof
What had happened was where the pipe fits into the elbow on the inside
the Pipe had some how come out and was just hanging there.
But replaced the elbow anyway

On another note where most we’re saying to find the outlet was to take out
the wing vent then look down and pull out the sponge in the plastic bag
It wasn’t there it was behind the rubber part of the air intake
I did notice that considering water has been running there for the past
Fourteen years or so there’s no corrosion at all

Thanks again

Dave
