Droning noise when turning left

D3 has started to make a droning/humming noise (similar to what chunky MT tyres make) when turning left at road speed. Some slight vibration is also felt in the steering wheel.
I was certain that it had to be the righthand front wheel bearing, but replacing that made zero difference. Now I'm out of ideas, what else could it be?

it may be front diff on the way out
the other bearing may be worth checking as well (you can always fit the one you removed from r/h/s) Thumbs Up

Could well be other bearing. Mine just got fixed and was the opposite side to what we thought. LR dealer also initially thought it was the diff as well!

Well, it turns out you were right Very Happy (Well, not the swmbo thing...)
Just in after changing the left hand front bearing to the one removed from right side and that sorted it, no more grinding, very happy indeed!
It was not possible to feel any play in the wheel bearing when lifting the wheel off ground but once the hub was removed and turned by hand, it felt notchy and not smooth at all.

Did you get any other rumbling when at speed in straight line at all?

Yes, it was rumbling/humming when going in a straight line as well, only the note changed when turning. Not very loud, but when used to the normal smoothness and quiteness in the D3, it was obvious something was wrong. Also a slight vibration in the pedals/floor.
I have had wheel bearings go in other cars and the sound was familiar from those.
