DSC Operating on Slight Corners |
|
Hi All
I was wondering if anyone can help?
I have noticed the DSC light coming on and you can feel the system operating on slight corners even at low speed. It seems to only operate on right hand bends though. I was thinking that it might be a sensor or something similar.
Has anyone experienced any thing similar???
Many thanks
Tom

There is a steering sensor which may be causing this issue as they are linked

The car is going in on Friday for new ball joints so willask if the dealer can take a look. I wonder if this will show up on diagnostics??

It could be a wheel speed sensor but before you mention anything to the dealership, just check your tyre pressures - it's not unknown for this to cause the DSC to activate during corners or roundabouts. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Yep, first thing to check as well as low tyre pressures DSC will compensate for dented rims and large rips in sidewalls as a certain site sponsor will testify (tested at speed haring along Morocco mountain roads ) The End

You may have to point them in that direction.
Further: I've just had bushes replaced that required wheel alignment. The bushes were done by a dealer - the wheel alignment by a tyre fitment centre. When the car was returned to the dealer, the numpty forgot to recalibrate the steering and a suspension fault showed up on the dash and froze my suspension ajustment in normal ride height.
If you're having ball joints replaced, you may go through the same mill... Ask the dealer, or whoever's doing the work for you about this.
Cheers

If you have offroad navigation you might check the wheel position. Or you might set TR to mud & ruts and look on the dashboard.
If you are driving straight your wheels schould be straight on the display to. 05 TDV6 HSE AUTO 7seats, tonga green/alpaca, alpine roof, privacy glass, tow kit, wood kit, 20" stormers n summer, 18" in winter, fancy exhausts, rear seat ent., club fooked turbo!

There's also a TSB for excessive movement in the steering column, but more often than not it's as Paul suggests. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
