DVD Installation Kit colour???
Does anybody know if there are 2 shades for the DVD installation? I have seen a factiry fitted DVD in an Alpaca interior which had a creamy colour. Now, if you have Ebony interior (light greyish roof), then I would expect to get a light grey DVD installation kit ? What colour is your DVD? Any replies would be very much appreciated. I will be picking up my new Disco at 14:00. Can't wait.

No, there is just a single color. What you see in the kit catalog is it. You can, of course, go to third party unit if you want a different color (and want to save money.)

Do you know of any third party who can supply something to fit on the Disco's roof? I got today my new 06 model and I have the air cond controls stuck right in the middle of the roof, and I would need something made to order. Any advise?

minicabelemet, check with a local shop. There should be numerous options. In North America, installers often mount directly behind and against the A/C controls/lighting pod... trimming off the edge of the DVD unit trim to make it "flush".

I will check tomorrow with my local shop to see what can they do. As we have a long trip to Austria on 19th Dec, I need to sort it out soon. I have made a provisional booking with LR to fit one of theirs dvd.

FYI, here is a clean 3rd party install of a 10" Rosen A10 "all-in-one" DVD unit: http://sunroofsetc.com/100_0858.JPG (No Land Rover installation parts were used.)

Hi Guys,
I have recently posted on RRSport so thought i would come and share my knowlegde and special offers with you guys too!!
Prestige Audio is the UKs premier in car audio and visual company and we carry out dozens of installs for many franchised LR dealers, and will be able to offer some seasonal discounts to forum members!
I personally am not a fan of centrally mounted roofscreens as they obstruct the rear view mirror totally when open, so we devised a rather natty twin roofscreen system just for the Disco III.
Some piccies here:
and
Note the trim rings are recovered in alcantara to blend in with the roof lining.
The DVD player is usually mounted in place of the rear cupholders, but it can go in the front glovebox if preferred.
If there is any interest, I will put together some forum special offers?
Cheers
Chris

Hi guys,
Thanks for the kind words!
Our usual price for this kit is £1750 inc VAT and installation, but I can do a special Disco3 forum rate of £1430 all in.
If you have black roof lining, we use a slightly different screen (same 7" size but all black) and these are slightly cheap, so the total cost of that package would be £1345 all in.
These packages include a single disk DVD player and a pair of cordless headphones, and we offer a lifetime warranty on all of our workmanship (yes, we are that good!!!! )
Options include PS2 with BigCat Pro PSU and cordless controllers for £400, DVB/Freeview for £545
NavTV interface to give DVD onto front screen - £835 (ouch, I know!)
Additional headphones - £30 a pair
Any specific questions please feel free to ask!
Cheers
Chris

Very secure! We have never carried out any 'swing a child from the screen' tests as yet but they are very secure!!
Yes - they are dual source screens so you can connect DVD and PS2 or TV etc
By default it is just through headphones, but we can tap into the Aux input of the stereo for another £100 or so.
Chris,
I echo the sentiments of others - good looking job and much more satisfying to passengers and safer for the driver than the standard jobbie.
One question (hope it doesn't show great ignorance on my behalf) - where is the DVD player installed?
thanks,
