EAS Inflation Time

Afternoon Smile

Can anyone give me a feel for how long it should take for the EAS system to inflate to the standard height from deflated to the stops?

It took the system here 3 or 4 minutes to return to the correct height today with the "suspension raising slowly" message on the dash. The rear raised quickly, but the front to some time to fill.

The system seems to reaches the quoted nominal working pressures, it just seems slow.

Sorry if it's been asked before but i couldn't find detail on average lift times.

Thanks in anticipation

Maybe 10-15 s from access to standard ride and the same again to off-road height? Roughly? In any case significantly less than even a minute.. Deflation is fast, too.

Mine goes from access to std rid height in the time it takes me to release the handbrake and back off my driveway and scoot of down the road, so the times kajtzu quotes sounds right to me.

I just hit the raise switch, switch on turn signal and press the pedal. EPB releases automatically 8)

I just drive away before I get in lol.

And the suspension raises automatically.

Yeah, the system raises from access to standard & standard to off road reasonably quickly as the system is already at a working pressurise I guess.

It's when the corners have been deflated down to the stops with the IID tool & the pressure released,
then requesting it to move to standard height that takes the time here.

I've also noticed that if I've requested several different height settings in short succession it slows as it runs out of air & has to wait a minute or two for the compressor to raise the reservoir pressure before the correct height is achieved.

I'm trying to gauge if this slow recovery time is an indication of a tired EAS compressor which might also be the cause of my sporadic uneven rear suspension i'm babbling on about in another thread Smile

Takes a while to re-inflate. Less PSI at the rear hence this goes up first. Pete K gave me good advice when I had the same issue after rebuilding the front valve block

I think the computer just raises the rear first. Programmed to do it in this order for safety.

Re inflating the system after an IID drain will take time. (twice as long as usual).

I doubt a faulty compressor would cause an imbalance left to right,

but if you service the 3 valves (with new seals), blow the front to rear pipes out, clean out the dryer eventually you should get to a system that operates like it left the factory.

Small steps and eventually you should get there.

Hi mate,

I've not been commited to the asylum just yet!

Yes, I had seen that video before along with Bodsy valve refurb one.

I'm going to have a crack at this at some point to remove it from the equation as i've noticed an intersting development this moring which i've posted on the original post relating to uneven suspension.
