Ukraine 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Zambezi SilverDiscovery 3

He was lucky. I got six fines totalling nearly 800 Euros Big Cry on my last trip to our French home in the Dordogne in the summer. In the 26 years we had the house I only had one fine prior to that and my wife thought that was 90 Euros well spent so she could 'admire' the young Gendarme on his motorbike, tight jodhpurs with apparently the sexiest voice and accent she's ever heard Shocked Laughing

Its a very efficient system they have to catch you, fine you and enable you to pay. It's seamless. Laughing

must be new then, I got caught in February doing an adjusted 34mph coming into a 30mph zone from a 40mph zone. I couldn't book onto a speed awareness course due to the obvious so I ended up getting let off Very Happy

I did my speed awareness course over Microsoft Teams owing to lockdown. A couple of hours sat at my desk at home with none of the messing around of going to a venue and mixing with criminals. Laughing

The course was actually quite interesting in parts. Thumbs Up

Yup, first speeding ticket in 25 years back in January (Oxford A34 bypass, van on the bridge, usual BS).

Took them forever to work out how they would put me on the course, then did it via Zoom. Couple of hotty housewives on the course, so spent most of the 90 minutes admiring the scenery Whistle

Mine didn't allow us to see each other, just the teacher or whatever slides were being shown. So we just heard each other when answering questions and there was no scenery.

The A34 around Oxford has a fair amount of camera van activity, particularly the Botley junction, although they also put them on a couple of bridges between Oxford and Abingdon.

Do you think there's a thread on Mumsnet or somewhere with two women saying something similar about being on a Zoom speed awareness course with NoDo$h? Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Something along the lines of "this old guy was sat there staring at the screen and mumbling occasionally"? Rolling with laughter

ISTR seeing an article that made it almost impossible for UK enforcement to impose and chase camera traffic offences on European citizens, but that the same rules didn't apply in reverse. Something to do with database access, they can access ours but we cant access theirs

So we cant chase a French national (for example) for getting caught on a Gatso but the French police can log into UK DVLA and get the drivers details straight away.

Wrong.

Until a few years ago 3 countries did not sign up to the directive. UK was one of them. It wasn't other countries refusing to grant access.
You will find that its the UK's inability (or unwillingness) to actively and efficiently chase non-national fines rather than the fault of everyone else...
