EGR blanked.... Not remapped 2007 D3

Just a quick query. Bought a D3 recently. The EGR have been blanked but the remap has not been done so obviously the engine warning light is on.

My question is - if the EGR is blanked will the benefits of the blanking already be evident or will the full benefits only be realised after the remap? (obviously main benefit is warning light off)

I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I did search and read a good few posts on EGR blanking but none I could see answers this question.

A remap is not the same as a egr patch, you will need a egr patch to put the eml light off, a remap will not do this .
