Sorry to bring this up again but have been searching and can't find what I'm after.
I have a set of EGR blanking plates but do not have any instructions on where to fit them.
I have had the engine cover off and have located the EGRs. Looking from the top of the engine a silver coloured pipe runs from the inlet manifold and down to the EGR, the flange at the end of this looks the same shape as the blanking plates. Is this where they go? i.e. Undo the two bolts and slide the plate in between?
Following on from that though I have seen posts that state even if just blanking the EGRs you still need to remove the butterfly valve from inside the EGR. Is this done through the port which I mentioned above?
Just to add I do not have an EGR problem and was only doing this to prevent future problems/increase mpg and in preperation for a re-map.

That's exactly where the blanks go You may want to get new bolts x4 before you start the job as when I done mine they were quite rusty.
The butterfly flap gets removed but thats in the air intake not the EGR , the spindle may not come out easy so a few of us have blocked the flap open with a self tapper
Have a read through these 18 pages first

Just been to Tavira and back today on the A22. It goes like a rocket! I was going about 20 kmh faster with the same effort on the accelerator. I'll have to pace myself and relax my right leg muscles...

Ok Tawny, I've read the 18 pages and have printed off and read the BAS blanking instructions.
I am clear on where the blanking plates go and more or less have an idea where the butterfly spindle is.
Final question - Once I have blanked and removed/opened the butterfly do I leave the silver pipe in situ?
I would not be removing or blanking the stub pipe where it enters the butterfly housing.
I am only blanking the EGR at the bottom of the silver pipe.
Thanks for your help, glad to see so many others have benefitted from this mod.

Well finally got round to doing this job today.
Took my time and amazingly kept my cool throughout. Took 3.5 hours.
Had a very scary moment when I dropped a screwdriver bit into the engine bay. I wasn't going to bother looking for it thinking it'd just drop out of the sump guard and onto the road. I just had another look with a decent torch before packing up, good job I did! The bit had landed on the timing belt next to one of the pulleys. Hate to think what would've happened!!!!
Thanks for all the assistance from the forum, really gave me the confidence to have a go.
She feels a little more responsive, but I'm now planning on getting a remap as well so should notice more then.
